To be precise, the Cup was carried yesterday on the Volcán de Tindaya at 9 a.m. on the Corralejo-Playa Blanca route, fostering a great sense of expectancy amongst the passengers of this popular maritime link.

The Telde Town Hall Social Services Department received the collaboration of Naveira Armas to develop its “Have fun without barriers” programme which involves a series of entertainment activities such as the visit to one of the ferries of the Canarian shipping company by handicapped girls and boys from the Municipality of Telde.

Today, Thursday, 15 June Naviera Armas launched the first of two large ferries -Volcán del Teide- at the Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard in Vigo; this is the largest ferry ever built in Vigo’s shipyards, and will be followed by a second to be launched at the end of 2010. This ferry coming into service represents a quantitative and qualitative leap forward for communications by sea in the Canary Islands.

The students of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Hotel School received a donation of 3,000 euros from Naviera Armas to help them out with their trip to the International Tourism Bourse of Berlin, the ITB and promote the islands and Naviera Armas at this event. The students benefitting are on the first and third Hotel Business course and they received the cheques from the Commercial Manager of Armas, Juan Pablo Marrero and from the Marketing manager, Diana Báez.
